Monsanto MV1 LED Up for sale is a Monsanto MV1 light emitting diode, tested and working with minor shelf wear. The Monsanto MV1, released in 1968, is considered by most LED collectors to be the world's first production visible light emitting diode. Unlike modern LEDs that are encased in plastic packages, the MV1 is built on a gold transistor-style carrier with a dipped epoxy lens. The MV1 is a very dim light source, and is barely visible under normal indoor lighting. Sale Terms
