You're bloody brilliant! Thanks for the tip; it fixed both the weird phone #, and the "Activation Required" nuisance. |

hi...i'm new to this forum. i have the same problem...i have a verizon 9830 that has the 'activation required' notice at the top.
i took the advise and did the xx000000....i got a rather large and technical screen that had a lot of number on it. i need a rather detailed reply / help from you in order to fix my problem (i currently don't have blackberry data services, but am planning on activating them). The screen i see when i do the above xx process is as follows; mobile directory number; 0000005832 imsi s; 0000005832 mobile country code; 310 mobile network code; 00 home sid; 2004 home nid; 65535 a key; sip user id; 0000005832 AT vzw3g com sip password; mip user id; 0000005832 AT vzw3g com home address; 0.0.0.0 primary ha address; 255.255.255.255 secondary ha addres; 255.255.255.255 user profile index; 0 dmu mn auth; 00111111 in addition to the above, there are a lot of icons with 'true' or numbers written. please advise in detail what changes i'm supposed to make. my country code is 92 and network code is 344. thank you very much. ps; please excuse the 'AT' in the email addresses above...system made me remove them the sign. |

If it is a Telus 9700 or 9550 and you have unlocked it to use on Rogers you have to go to Telus and get them to give you the MSL code and punch in ##XXXXXX where XXXXXXX is the 6 digit number tied to your IMEI. I believe that Verizon 9550 phones use ##000000. But that wont work on Telus phones. Also you should unlock your phone via Horizon Wireless. Baquiran |
Hey baquiran...Is this something Telus wil give me with no issues or questions?

Hi Calix (Jason)
Thanks for the solution removing the "activation required" message. It worked perfect in my new BB. Do you know if there is other POST related with other problem that I have? (the problem is that I bought a plan for data services but the BB only works with 2G; if I select 3g, it doesn't navigate) Thanks again. |

you're great!!! It worked just like you said. I bought a Verizon Storm2 9550 and use it in ISRAEL @ Cellcom. After I followed your instructions I have "Cellcom - 3Comxxxx" (my WiFi connection name) at the top of my home screen instead of the annoying announcement. Thanks a lot, man. You are the man.(y)(y)(y) |
