help using screen lock / password feature
 

Hi,

I tried to put a password onto the pearl but what happens is that the device times out every specified interval and locks the screen. This is not what I want.

What I want it is to manually lock the phone, when it is necessary. Then to unlock it a password is needed. For me the time out thing would be quite inconvenient.

So how can I do this? thanks

also, since I've got your attention, a few quick minor questions:

1) what the best thread listing available software for blackberry pearl? I found a good one before but can't remember where it was. Internet connection really slow and unreliable right now, so if someone can give me a link - it sure beats trying to browse for one.

2) my SIM card asks for some kind of sim password on bootup. I typed it wrong so now I only have 3 instead of 4 chances. What happens when it gets down to 0? [ I know my password, but can envision over the months making 3 more typos eventually ]
