physicians using BB? Help me decide

I have used a Palm for years, with epocrates and 5MCC. Most recently the Centro has been nothing but headaches for the 2 months I've had it, now doesn't synch to my desktop. If the Palm Pre had come out just a bit sooner, would have been eligible for that with the new phone contract, but am not now. I use Outlook for calendar, email and notes.

Is it worth switching to a blackberry, and if so which model and which medical applications?

You can get epocrates for the BB. There are also http://www.skyscape.com/index/home.aspx and PEPID Medical Information Services for PDA, Pocket PC, Mobile Wireless & Online Use to consider.

My suggestion would be the 9000 Bold. It has 1MB on board additional memory. Other devices will work fine you just have to carefully manage your memory. I work with Physicians in Information Technology and Eporactes has a HUGE footprint.

Good Luck and Enjoy!

I'm using the 8830 with PEPID and Clinical Medicine Consult. Couldn't be happier. I've used Palms since 1997, but I made the switch when the 8830 came out.

Synching

What does Clinical consult add to PEPID?

How do you synch calendar, contacts, and notes? Email?

I find PEPID to be a great quick reference. Clin Med Consult gives more in depth info. I feel they compliment each other well.

I use a MacBook and I sync my info via MissingSync. I also have VM Ware Fusion installed on the MacBook. I use the BB Desktop to back up my 8830 periodically.
