Multiple App Connection Issues

Thank you in advance for nay help you can give. I hope I am posting this in the right forum.

I got a hand-me-down Curve 8330 this last weekend. It was formally used by my wife for her business. Upon first use, I was able to install and have apps work internittently. I also was unable to change the password settings (there was a red lock icon by it). So I assumed it had to do with my wife's work sercurity on the BB. So I wiped it. Now the ability to change password is unlocked and all former security seemed to be gone.

But now, I cannot get my apps to connect. I can browse the internet, I can receive emails, I can download apps from sites like m.skype.com. But once the app is installed and I go to use it, they give me connection errors. Pandora, skype, and grooveshark all have given me issues.

I am running v4.5.0.191

BTW, I am on verizon wireless. Their tech support did nothing for me but have me reinstall and reboot many times. Also tried selling em a new phone..... yeah, that's a normal tech support service. LOL

Sounds like an IT Policy on the device?

I think so. I actually did another "resettofactorysettings" today by:

Connect the smartphone to the computer.
From the Start menu, click Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
Note: When a computer running Windows Vista™ or Windows 7 is used, the user might need to right-click the Command Prompt application and choose Run as administrator.

Find the Apploader folder by typing cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader and then pressing ENTER.
Note: For computers using a 64-bit version of Windows, navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\Apploader

Type loader.exe /resettofactory
Type the BlackBerry smartphone password if prompted.

Though I had done this before, it seemed to work this last time and now most everything works as its supposed to.

I am still getting DNS errors with Pandora but I think it may be another issue altogether.
