Emergency Alert Messages Application-Should this be working NOW?
Has anyone seen this app work recently? Only seen one useless message come through on 9/4/12. It appeared to come from NWS with no info on which particular flash flood area they were recommending “evacuation.” I’ve seen nothing since then.
Seems rather odd that with the state of New Jersey (where I am now), and many surrounding states, in a state of emergency as a result of Hurricane Sandy, that none of the state or local emergency management agencies have chosen to use this system that cost us mobile users to purchase and implement. |

It worked for me one day last week when there were a few tornados in my area.

I received no notifications about Sandy either, but it has worked for me previously.

I followed this up with VZW and RIM, and thought I was making progress until the RIM tech support rep gave me instructions to download what turned out to be…the same OS release I already have (7.1.0.580). Located a few more people in the NYC trip-state area with Blackberry devices who also found this app didn’t work for them. |

Anyone else on any other wireless carriers found this app (also known as "CMAS") not working in their area?
