Cingular it is..

I wonder why it isnt branded AT&T, a few of the upcoming cingular phones have started to appear in the AT&T branding.

I found this odd as well. I would have thought that with the new AT&T they would start branding their phones as such. I wonder how old this is?

I find the Cingular branding odd as well. But a couple of there new phones still have that Cingular logo on them. Take the 8800 for instance, and even more recently the Nokia N75 (released last Friday). Rebranding could take some time, they still answer there phones saying Cingular (the new AT&T) and all there commercials say the same thing. So we'll just have to sit back and see what happens. Personally I could care less what logo is on it, I just want them to release it already!

JSanders 05-09-2007 08:52 PM

And wasn't that a nice hand model in the video?

bdizzlefizzle 05-09-2007 09:04 PM

Looks like the video was shot with a SonyEricsson camera phone

Pizzle 05-09-2007 09:11 PM

It's probably and old mock-up or pre-production phone. The production models will likely be AT&T branded.

Once I have the 8300 in my hands, the last thing I will be focused on will be the logo. :)

MooseBerry 05-10-2007 03:10 AM

My buddy is an assistant manager for cingy and he went to a RIM/at&t meeting in Times Square, NYC last week and got to play with the 8300. He told me it was at&t branded. Even the red pearl has the at&t logo and all the new sim cards show the carrier as at&t, not cingular. I would be very surprised to see it branded with the old company name.
