Step by Step

Would love to start my own server. But where or how can I get one started from my side fo the house? Is there a step by step process that I could follow to make this happen?

Well chances are, the BES software would include a bible of a instruction guide. You would also need some skills when it comes to working on the server side of things. I wish someone would sell me their software liscense, I would be up for it. I have several severs for hosting already, another windows based BES server wouldnt hurt :) All I need is a 500 user liscense on the cheap and I would provide free, or minimal cost BES Hosting.

The following link is the Getting Started and Installation Guide for the BlackBerry server. Now, you just need to purchase a SRP number and user licenses :)

The guide is 254 pages!

Yea, the SRP liscense and the user liscenses are the fun part

Thanks for the info!

I don't understand why you'd want to even do this. I mean the software, server, and a 5 user license will run you a few hundred dollars. Unless you're a business that's either just starting, or just getting BB's and want to use them business side without outsourcing, it's almost pointless. It'd be far cheaper to pay a company such as myblackberry.us to use their BES and everything is taken care of with MUCH less money and headache out of pocket.

I'm not bashing, just don't understand why personal end users want to set up their own BES server.
