OS: 8310 4.5.0.62/4.5.0.44 (MultiLanguage)

8310:

Software For BlackBerry Curve 8310 (TM)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.44
This OS will load on any carrier's 8310 model as long the user follows the instructions below exactly as written.

Filename: 8310M_rel62_PL2.7.0.61_A4.5.0.44.exe

Package Version: 4.5.0.62
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.5.0.44
Software Platform: 2.7.0.61
File name: 8310M_rel62_PL2.7.0.61_A4.5.0.44.exe
File size:78.7 MB

http://www.a1.net/downloadcenter/831..._A4.5.0.44.exe

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8310:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device.

Just curious, what carrier's version is this? Changes from .37? Worth updating?

It's from A1.

JSanders 07-14-2008 01:33 PM

Where is A1? The steak sauce country? :?

Nevertheless, this .44 release is MUCH better, more stable than the .37.

Browser issues with entering text is fixed, is the biggie. I think this release was the one also that got Youtube working on mine.

I downloaded the latest OS...like it very much. My question--I now have more sample ring tones, which show up in media. But when I want to use it as a "custom ring tone" in a contact in the address book, it does not show up. Under Media/ringtones, it shows under "All Ring Tones", but not under "Preloaded Ring Tones.

Thanks in advance for your expert advice.

The lastest beta is 4.5.0.52, so this .44 a final release from carriers?

Sith_Apprentice 07-14-2008 02:44 PM

.44 release is the latest release from a carrier yes. .37 was the previous release. Both of these are official, and nothing else that you find on the net is actually supposed to be out there yet (ie, Beta)

Was this download very slow for anyone else? I'm currently only downloading at 55KB/Sec... :(

*Patiently awaits download completion*

Sith_Apprentice 07-14-2008 03:06 PM

All RIM downloads are slow for some reason.

hmiller2012 07-14-2008 03:09 PM

they certainly are im only getting 32kb/s

mckinneycm 07-14-2008 03:17 PM

Mine went pretty quick; however, I was the first to download it. Being that it's coming from A1's server, it's probably overloaded depending on how many people are downloading it right now.

jvanlew 07-14-2008 03:24 PM

ooh ooh 45 seconds! Yay!

hmiller2012 07-14-2008 03:29 PM

after all that wait i get setup initialization error guess i will try redownloading

GBX 07-14-2008 04:18 PM

anyone know what version BES i need to be running in order to view HTML emails?

Also, will my all my settings that are backed up on my BES load via enterprise activation without problems?

Nukinfuts 07-14-2008 04:45 PM

Same error as .37

Multiple computers, latest DM, steps followed EXACTLY. Even used a seperate data cable. Keep getting "Fatal error occured trying to update device" immediatly after it shuts off the radio.

John Clark 07-14-2008 04:46 PM

You need BES 4.1.6 or a "hacked" 4.1.5.
