Wi-Fi Filter

Hi,
I am looking for any iformation how to block unwanted free* Wi-Fi's that are trying to make connection with your phone when you turn ON Wi-Fi search.

I am quiet sure there should be an app for that making your phone to connect to known Wi-Fi only (I can't find it tho).

The default PRIV Wi-Fi search is finding free* unblocked Wi-Fi signals in my area and I can see when they are available that my phone is getting confused, by default. Sometimes to a point that without me doing anything my Wi-Fi is turing itself OFF and back ON again, making it hard to connect to my Home Wi-Fi.

When I press and hold unblocked-free* Wi-Fi signals there is no option to Block/Remove/Forget forever/Dont touch this one ever...

Help will be appreciated.

Re: Wi-Fi Filter

Reading the manual for the PRIV I see standard WIFI options that allow the phone to connect to previously saved networks. Unless your home unit is weak or the channel it is using ( which can be changed) is also used by close WIFI routers such as neighbors you will get some level of interference. I had to change my own due to a neighbor adding multiple sub units with the same channel I was on with my router.

As for the ability to drop saved networks. this link for the phone shows how.
which I'm sure you already have.

You can also option the phone to not connect to WIFI when traveling.

Wi-Fi frequency band Tap to set the frequency band. When you set the band to 5.0 GHz, your device
connects to access points on the 5.0-GHz band only. When set to 2.4 GHz, your
device connects to access points on the 2.4-GHz band only. When set to
automatic, your device tries to connect to the band with the stronger signal
strength.

Re: Wi-Fi Filter

Thanks for trying to help tsac but this PRIV wi-fi issue goes much deeper :/ I have described it in new thread here.
You can delete this(Wi-Fi Filter) thread or tell me how to so I can do it.

Re: Wi-Fi Filter

This is a customized issue. Right now, you only want 1 (or few wifi connections). And also, you want that your device should not search for those connections (from the start). I can't have an answer, as the device has to search for all the connections in a specific area available for connectivity. If you want to block all of those, you have to build a custom app, with connections that are mentioned for connectivity. And block rest of them or if get connects, the app should disconnect it easily. It is a simple app but remembers, there will be multiple issues while running the app. You will have to turn it off, in order to know available connections, in case you are moving out of city etc.
