Help for our user & friend Audit get their lives back in order.

Help our user and friend Audit!

If you've been around BBForums or other BB user forums (Crackberry) long, you know who user Audit is. He runs the -= Dataoutages.com =- mail list, and has moderated at other other forums similar to this. His name is John.

Around Detroit yesterday, with straight-line winds, hail, and storms, his family home was damaged. You can view news coverage here for the Detroit area:
136,000 Metro Detroiters Without Power Detroit Damage

Many of the windows in the home were blown out, water damage inside and loss of a lot of stuff in the home. John fared better than his brother who has two large oaks through each end of their home.

What's more, John is not in great health. Some of his friends here know more about this, but suffice it to say that storm damage repairs aren't the only need right now. Well, since Extreme Home Makeover and Ty Pennington are not around, we'll do our part!

Click below to help John and his family.

Click here and go to the PayPal button at the bottom of the page.

Or, simply make a PayPal payment to [email address].

Funds deposited to the DataOutages can and will be used for personal expenses and for whatever they need, be it new windows, food, clothing, home repairs, whatever.

Anything you can do will be appreciated, from $1.00 upwards.

We bought a BlackBerry for Dawg (yeah!), now let's help an individual and their family put their home back in order. Yea I know this is not as sexy as a BlackBerry, but these are lives of our friend we want to help mend.

SO, thank you in advance for your contribution, and thank you for helping mend some lives.

If you have other questions, please feel free to PM me here at BBF.

sometimes all you need is some friends to help out.

John Clark 06-09-2008 04:11 PM

Thanks, JS...They are in cleanup mode today and making some progress. They had to stay in a hotel last night so anything we can do would certainly help! Great thread!

Thanks everyone, we're not used to taking "charity". We have a company out right now that's going through our park and I'm sure they are "cleaning up" in the wallet right now. They will have windows in today and we're "supposed" to have another storm coming in tonight, not sure how strong but they did say it's going to be a fairly strong one, getting hit with 2 major storms within 24hr's didn't help anyone in our park but last night's was a bad one for sure. We have a few people over helping with cleanup while I'm at work and I'm trying to manage things from here. It's a interesting day to say the least, at least the east side of the home wasn't damaged and that's where our master bedroom is so as long as things keep going and we get the electric back soon then we'll be in the house tonight.

Thank god for Check N Go, they are our best friend in times like this to get $ in an emergency. I know a lot of neighbors were up there this morning.

Oh I'm REALLY hating Michigan now. http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...WS05/806090356

John Clark 06-09-2008 05:45 PM

I always wonder why y'all live out there!

audit 06-09-2008 06:05 PM

We live in the sticks of Oxford, it's nice and peacefull compared to the city. Wildlife all over the place and you can actually see the stars at night. But we also get hit harder then the city does when storms pass through because we have a lot of lakes around us.

Thank god for xanax during the last 3 days.

LunkHead 06-09-2008 08:25 PM

Donated.... Wish I could have sent more than $20 though....

John Clark 06-09-2008 08:34 PM

Feeding a family of 6 here....Groceries/gas KILL me! I've seen about a 40% increase in my grocery budget!

I donated $25. One doesn't have to donate a large amount Whatever you can spare to help a family in need. $1,$5, $10, $20, $50, $100. If many people donate a little, it adds up to a lot. No need for feeling bad you couldn't donate more.

NJBlackBerry 06-09-2008 08:39 PM

I'm in... Good luck...
And it's not charity. It's helping out a friend.

rachamphetamine 06-09-2008 09:14 PM

I get paid Wednesday so I will certainly be sending some funds along then. Good luck with everything audit, my thoughts are with you.

audit 06-10-2008 12:11 AM

Thanks again everyone for those that have donated. BELIEVE me when I say I understand about foot and gas bills. I let my car get repo'd because we couldn't afford it as well as the medical bills, etc. Our son is in the let's grow an inch a month stage so the salvation army has been a great place for us to go get clothes at for them and I really don't give 2 shits about what people think about how I look. I'm a redneck after all and I dress how I feel comfortable which means I still wear clothes that are YEARS old because my kids come first for food and clothes.

The good news is we have electric back, windows in the place so we're dealing with water damage now and trying to replace the food that we lost due to the weather and heat. We've come up with enough to get us through the next couple days from friends so my wife and kids are good. I've gone almost 2 weeks before without food so this is nothing new to me. I'll eat again on Friday when a buddy pays me back for a bet for the Hockey finals via a nice lunch.

I'm trying to get ahold of another MicroSD card for my 8310 because after all the pictures I took among other things, it gave out on me and my computer won't read it so I can get the pictures off it and my 8310 doesn't see it. I'll be doing some data recovery hopefully off it throughout the night. With everything that's gone on with the weather, I'm wound up tighter then a drum so I'm not sure sleep's going to be a option for me tonight. Kids and wife come first for comfort and sleep.

I've always told my wife that I'll get plenty of rest when I'm dead ;)
