OTA Update

I thought that was a standard feature of OS 4.7 ... Anyone else have OTA update option? Mine is missing.

penguin3107 07-15-2009 04:36 AM

I have it.
Options > Advanced Options > Wireless Update
There's nothing to update to yet, though.

(I'm also on BES and thus have the OTASL service book from it.)

The wireless update option is not on my Tour.
There is nothing listed after TCP/IP

Nope...that isn't the reason. I've always been on BIS and my Wireless Update is there; just looked.

jlmemt 07-15-2009 09:53 AM

I am on BIS and have it.

complexx 07-15-2009 09:54 AM

I'm on BIS, don't have it. This is stupid.

Try resending your service books?
Honestly, why worry about it now? There's no OTASL compatible software to update to anyway.

Verizon might might push the service books once there is a use for it.

Hmm, some have it and some don't. I wonder why?

Phased roll out?
Geographical area?
Preloaded service books on some devices?
BES?

Could be any number of factors.
All are insignificant at that point.
When Verizon offers an OTASL version of a newer OS... if you're still missing the Wireless Update option on your device, then it's time to be concerned.

Until then. Doesn't matter at all.
