got any photos of the unit up for sale? or at least a list of the damage aside from a non-functioning screen... does it still power on/boot up?

Wirelessly posted

I'll take some photos of it tomorrow. There's ni damage to the phone, just the screen doesn't work...it operates but you can't see what you're doing.

i assume it's also either unlocked or locked to t-mobile?

if so, i'll take it. pm your paypal address.

Here's the phone. Yes, it's locked to T-Mobile.

The system software on the phone has been wiped. I wiped it in the process of troubleshooting the screen with RIM tech support. The system software can be reloaded with desktop manager.

My paypal address is [email address]. I'll ship it off once I receive the money.

jschlitzer - Do you have any feedback as an Ebay seller, etc. It might be a good thing for Oakie to know. Not implying anything just want everyone going in with their eyes wide open!

I haven't done much selling on Ebay, mainly buying. You can check my eBay feedback, it's all positive. My user name on there is jschlitzer.

This isn't a scam. This Pearl is my old phone. Turned it on one day and the screen would just stay blank white. I didn't have insurance with it and it was no longer under warranty, so I got a new phone.

Like I said early, this is a great deal if you need some Pearl parts and/or battery.

I'm only accepting payment with paypal. Whom ever sends me money first, it's theirs.

you have to call t-mobile and tell them to release the PIN. i'd like the option to revive it if possible, thus need the pin reset.

Ok, I'm a bit confused here. I don't understand why I would have to do this. Is the PIN on my old phone no longer valid or something?

oakie 06-11-2008 12:02 AM

payment sent via paypal. $21 USD, extra buck to cover paypal fees.

no, the pin is attached to the blackberry e-mail user name/account you created when you first got the phone.

if i were to get it working, it may not be released, showing that phone's PIN is still tied to your original account.

but if you did a "change device" thru the tmo.blackberry.net configuration page to transfer the old settings to the new phone you currently have, then it should be clear.

i'd just like a fair crack at reviving the sucker for use as a gift for my GF. she fell in love with my curve, so i thought i'd try and resuscitate this one... cuz a PIN reset without the original registrar is expensive.

jschlitzer 06-11-2008 12:05 AM

Thanks for the payment. I'll send it out tomorrow. In the meantime, can you clear up this whole releasing the PIN thing with t-mobile.

oakie 06-11-2008 12:07 AM

i appreciate you having patience for me though... the more you're forthcoming helps build more trust than just asking for an ebay reference, IMO.

but since you upgraded to a curve after that one broke, i'm pretty certain the phone's PIN should be released.

i'll try to do the repairs first. if i can revive it, i'll deal with the PIN at that time. the main thing is security of personal info, ensuring this phone is no longer tied to you in any way.
