Does 7100t have ability to run 3rd party IM software?

Trying to do some research about 7100 capabilities...

Has anyone tried WebMessenger or IM+ on the 7100t? Does it function properly on the 7100?

People who use other BlackBerries seem to think WebMessenger is better, because of:
- Better always-on reliability. (lots of reports of problems with 7100t IM)
- Fully configurable sound/vibrate alerts.
- Ability to configure it so you can just hit Enter to send messages.

This will help answer whether the 7100t support socket connections too;

Make sure you've got your Options->TCP configured with the T-Mobile compatible APN

Mark, speaking of the TCP options... is there some way to figure out what the values for that should be? I have a TMO and AWS 72xx devices I use regularly with 4OS and would like to know if it makes a difference if they have values entered in them.

If nobody else can/will, I will do so Mark.

I am just loathe to hook my 7100t to my BES/MDS.

Someone may have to remind me.

From what I can tell, the 7100t already has the IPPP for BIBS, which means you can run TCP/IP software without BES/MDS.

Anybody who has currently tried this out?

Yes, from what I have heard people have run webmessenger and IM+ on the 7100T

I saw it in action today, webmessenger working great on the 7100t!

emale,
Was that BlackBerry 7100 with or without BES (for MDS)?
