Latest OS 9800 v6.0.0.3155 / 6.0.0.747 (All Languages)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.3155 (All Languages)

Will install to any carrier's 9800 model by following the instructions below.

Package Version: 6.0.0.3155
Consisting of:
Applications: 6.0.0.747
Software Platform: 6.6.0.249
File name: 9800AllLang_PBr6.0.0_rel3155_PL6.6.0.249_A6.0.0.74 7_Telus_Mobility.exe
File size: 187 MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download the OS file here: https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/D...7B96A45DF6CFE5

Instructions for installing on the 9800:
1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process may take up to 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a black "BlackBerry" screen with a status bar for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again, and it should load the OS to the device.

I'm givin' this new OS a shot. Install was flawless thru the DM. I usually new install thru AppLoader, but hey...it's a BlackBerry! Hangin' with this great phone until the new BB 10 devices drop.

Still BlackBerry forever until it's gone...and BlackBerry ain't going nowhere soon! Simply--it's a business phone that has not let me down ever. You gotta know how to use a business phone! This is the true reason I hang with this great forum and it's great communities. Learned a lot! Thanks for this update!

Loader.exe didn't offer to upgrade the OS (only apps) until I also removed Vendor.xml from the following location:

C:\Users\(UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

This should really be part of the boilerplate instructions...

Hi.
First I want to thank for the support.
I downloaded the OS and installed it perfectly.
Now I have the following issue:

Some HTML emails are showing as Plain Text.

I already check the enable HTML option in the settings and rebooted the Blackberry a few times (battery pull) but the issue still there.

Does anybody has the same issue?

Thank you.

The OS on my BB torch doesnt work well because I think it's either too many apps or the phone itself is just slow and it freezes sometimes, so all I can do is reboot the phone but it still doesnt work

Has RIM ever issued any list of what's changed in any OS upgrade it's released? It would be nice to know whether it's worth the trouble.

Not that I know of. They never have before. Don't suddenly see them doing it now. Sometimes an official build may have a small carrier related blurb buried on their website(carrier's), but it's usually carrier specific and not much help.

You should probably uninstall it and go back to an earlier version.

Did you drop the BB or get it wet - even a little damp?

Problem with this. It forces Enterprise Activation and regular BIS no longer works.
