BB Bold 9790

From BGR

We've just heard from a tipster that the BlackBerry Bold 9790 (think of the BlackBerry 9900 and mash that up with the BlackBerry 9700) will be launching around the end of November. The device will feature a 2.45-inch 640 x 480-pixel VGA touch display, 8GB of built-in storage and of course, a full QWERTY keyboard. New here is the redesigned (hideous) menu buttons a la BlackBerry Torch 9850. The device was incredibly clean before, but the new buttons ruin it for us. RIM also made the same move with the BlackBerry 9850 before it was released, changing the design from flush buttons to individual physical keys.

More info:

Several new BlackBerry smartphones were seen in a leaked advertisement for Canadian carrier Rogers, including the un-announced BlackBerry Bold 9790 along with the white version of the Blackberry Bold 9900 and BlackBerry Curve 9360.

Though RIM has yet to announced the BlackBerry Bold 9790, that smartphone has appeared in a number of leaks. Combining the smaller Bold form factor of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 series along with the touchscreen and BlackBerry 7 OS of the newer, larger BlackBerry Bold 9900 series, the Bold 9790 will be a more compact device with the latest enhancements from RIM's flagship Bold series.

More info:

Research In Motion today announced two new BlackBerries, the Bold 9790 and Curve 9380. Both devices run the newer BlackBerry 7 operating system and include touch screens.

Bold 9790: This smartphone is a standard monoblock QWERTY device that has a full keyboard for emails and messaging. RIM notes that it has a 2.45-inch capacitive touch VGA display with 246 dpi resolution, optical trackpad, and slim design. Other features include a 1GHz processor, 8GB of on-board storage (expandable by an additional 32GB), and camera with flash. RIM says the 9790 has an improved browser with better HTML5 and JavaScript powers, as well as built-in support for Augmented Reality and NFC.

Curve 9380: This is a brand new take on the Curve series, as it eliminates the keyboard entirely and is instead a full touch phone. The display measures 3.2 inches and the Curve 9380 also has an optical trackpad and BlackBerry controls. It includes a 5-megapixel camera with video capture and is preloaded with social networking software, such as Facebook, Twitter, and RIM's BBM 6 platform.

Both devices will be shipping from carriers world wide in the coming weeks. Pricing and availability from U.S. carriers has not been announced.
