No Web, data or mms on Walmart Family Mobile (T-mobile)

I recently moved my BB8320 from Tmobile to Walmart Family Mobile(rebranded Tmobile) and unless Im on wifi no apps or web browsing will work, and no mms messages will work even if Im wifi.

Support hasnt been much help, they told me to change the APN to a different address but that didnt fix it and they said if that was the case my phone may not be compatible with the data services and there was nothing they could do. Their web site and ads say you can use any GMS phone with the service.

According to my profile, I have somehow used .5 MB of data and have 99.5mb left out of my free 100mb.

Anyone else on WFM with a BB and have everything working ?

Nothing works properly because you no longer have a BlackBerry data plan. You need to go back to a real T-Mobile plan.

From what I have read, the Wal-Mart service doesn't support BB data.

"But...... but....... but....... I got the WalMart data plan!"

But...... but....... but....... the WalMart data plan isn't a Blackberry data plan.

I have 9700 and it does not work with Internet either. Called Family Mobile customer service and they said unfortunately blackberry is not supported at this time. I use wifi instead but again annoying. My father's t369 on 2nd line connects flawlessly to the Internet.

Is there an echo in here?

BlackBerrys are not cell phones or smart phones. They're BlackBerrys, a separate and distinct 3rd type of mobile communications device. As such, they get their data through RIM's servers, not from your carrier. BlackBerrys go through the carriers to get to these dedicated servers at RIM. That's why you need a bona fide BlackBerry data plan.

So if WalMart (or whatever bargain store you bought it from) doesn't have legit BlackBerry data plans to offer, you're out of luck.

not totally. download opera mini and use the settings for APN:

web.omwtoday.com

it's not perfect but most of the time it connects me to the net with my blackberry flip 8220 on walmart family mobile

Opera Mobile != BlackBerry data. No e-mail, MMS, or other data-using apps will work.

I wonder how much is Walmart's data plan?

Is it $4.00 per month, same as their generic meds?

I hate wally-world...

actually I've heard that mms will work if you change some setting too but I haven't confirmed it myself yet. I'm about to try it. as for email web based email will work through opera. as i said before it isn't perfect but until we get better it works.

tried it finally. have all the info but can't find any place to change the settings so it looks like this rumor is busted.
