8700c and GSat 359 BT

Any help appreciated. I just purchased the GSat 359 BT gps receiver from Cingular. I already had my BES admin at work set up blackberry maps on my 8700 and it works fine. I have no issues pairing the device, it finds and adds it without issue.

However, whenever I start blackberry maps and click start GPS I get an error that says error connecting to bluetooth. I get the same error every time. Could an IT policy be restricting the use of this? From what I read you just have to have an 8700, blackberrry maps installed and working, and a bluetooth gps receiver. If it is an IT policy what changes would need to be made to be able to start and use the gps inside blackberry maps?

I appreciate any help.

You haven't talked to your IT people to - hopefully - get answer to your own question?

I will this morning. I just thought someone on here should know because I was trying to get this to work over the weekend. I also have issues going to mobile banking for bank of america. I called and they said it had to be the carrier blocking their site? I wasn't aware that the carrier would block any site.

I didn't look at dates of your posts and didn't realize you probably couldn't have talked to IT yet. My bad. But you asked could it be IT, and what needs to be changed. IMO, probably, and I think you really need to talk to IT about it. As far as carrier blocking BOA site? I don't think so. Talk to your IT people but don't get your hopes up.
