Please Help: "activation Request....."

Hi people...

Having a little bit of trouble here...
I have a Blackberry 8520 and have just had the phone unlocked...

The Blackberry was on Orange... and now I am on 3...

I'm having problems setting up my e-mail...
and also signing in to sites such as Windows Live Messenger...

I get messages such as 'Activation Request Failed'...

And...

'Activation request failed, a service connection is unavailable'...

I must point out that I had only today, done a Blackberry wipe...
All of the e-mail was set up... and the likes of Windows Live Messenger was also set up.

Please could someone assist me.

Many Thanks

Michael

Do you have a blackberry data plan. (Not generic data plan.)

As far as I am aware, I do have one...
I can access the Internet ok... I have just downloaded Blackberry Messenger, and awaiting whilst it re-boots...

I have had this all up untill today... when I wiped the handset...

Could it be that because I have changed carriers... there may be some technical difficulties?

Battery pull and resend service books

Please can you tell me how to resend service books?

Nightsmoker 08-18-2010 12:45 PM

If it worked fine on the old carriers, you still must be sure you have a blackberry data plan on the new carrier.

OK... Now that is something that I very simply over-looked...
How would one go about getting a data-plan?

And is it a 'Blackberry Data Plan'?

You need to call your cell carrier and have them activate the BB on your account. They should add a BB data plan and send the proper service books.

And please have some patience between your posts. You waited just 3 minutes before asking again for help. We are all volunteers here.

Sorry Dubdub... Do these Data Plan's cost anything?

Yes
