Text messages are auto deleting on 7100g
 

A friend of mine asked me to help him with his BlackBerry, but I have never heard of this. His BlackBerry 7100g just started deleting text messages on its own today. Every time he closes his messages and goes back in, all his text messages are gone. The emails are there, but the text messages aren't. He said he didn't touch any of his settings, and I can't even think of any that would do that. Has anyone heard of this before or have any suggestions?

if he is using the zen theme it creates a seperate inbox for sms(text) messages. you would need to unhide this inbox before he will be able to go back into his inbox.

while in messages click the trackwheel and select view folder, scroll down and select sms messages/inbox

Tell him to go to Options (or settings) and check the 'Status'.

What is the File Free set to? If is 0, then that would explain it. You can then delete some applications, languages, or try power off the unit, remove the battery, and then turn it back on and check the 'Status'
