3rd Party Apps backup
 

Hello all,

do you know if Desktop Manager 4.2 is a must in order to do a backup of 3rd party apps? I've tried with 4.6 and the folder with the PIN number never gets created

No 4.2 is not a must. I have done this from 4.5. I haven't used DM 4.6, could be an issue there, I'm not sure.

Likewise, I currently use DM 4.5, but used the 3rd party backup process identified in jsconyers' post on DM 4.2 SP2, 4.3 and 4.5. I cannot imagine that it would not work with 4.6.

Are you looking in the correct folder for the output?

c:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Temp

and you need to snag the file(s) BEFORE clicking CANCEL in the backup step within the Desktop Manager app.
