9800 Splash screens
I have just bought a used 9800 on Vodafone, unlocked it, all working fine.
Downloaded the latest Orange OS from Blackberry, followed the instructions and installed, but it still boots the Vodafone splash screens, is this right? Or have I done something wrong? I have deleted the "Vendor" file, any advice would be great, thanks in advance:smile: |
Re: 9800 Splash screens
You can't change the boot screen. It is burned into the ROM and is not affected by the device OS.
The "vendor file" (assuming you mean the vendor.xml file exists only on the computer and is not transferred to the BlackBerry during the OS update. |
Re: 9800 Splash screens
Shame I really hate Vodafone, how do I know if the OS for Orange has been installed fully?
Cheers for your quick response |
Re: 9800 Splash screens
The OS doesn't really matter since they all come from RIM. You can install any OS you wish. Are you looking for anything in particular?

And if it bothers you to see that splash screen, the simple fix is to close your eyes for 10 seconds and poof! problem solved. ;)

I use that technique often... I haven't quite figured out how to use it while driving, though. Never seems to work out like I hope.
