Torch 9850 Reset itself to out of the box state

This is my second BB Torch 9850, and it did something so bizarre a couple weeks ago. I had a free flashlight app installed on it, that i had used on my first torch, no problems. But a couple weeks ago I accidentally actived the flashlight, no problem, it happens. I just hit the return button and the phone rebooted itself. Ok, while my first torch never rebooted itself, this one has a couple times. But when the screen came up where the spinning hourglass should have been, there was a little box that said java error and it rebooted itself again. This time the hourglass came up and the phone rebooted to a STOCK OUT OF THE BOX phone! All my data was gone, appointments, contacts everything, gone. I wished I had backed up my phone more often, the most recent was mid-September, so it was as bad as it could have been. Nothing on my SD card was touched, but has anyone seen a BB do anything like that?

Sounds like the App is corrupted and caused this issue. To delete all your adds, contacts and other base info is not something that can be done easily by any App. Once the BB is modified only a wipe will do this normally so the app may have caused this.

What is the full app name and where did you get it, Appworld?

That's definitely a poorly coded or corrupted app. I'd bin that app IMMEDIATELY!! If it's causing Java errors it's probably going to keep causing them.

I did! Believe me! Once it was restored from Barry Suite, the Linux synch program that app came off. Yes, got it from app world. So I don't know, just wondered if anyone else had ever seen that. I'll try to find the app name.later, maybe save someone else.
