No. These devices are not meant for holsters.

Actually there is a holster for the Z10. The holster, and some of the other cases perform the same power saving on holstering as previous models.

Mine came with a holster.
Unfortunately, Blackberry removed the In Holster/Out of Holster profiles.
Which is too bad.

there is a holster function, but as all functions, they are limited with the launch OS.
For holster fnct. open phone
slide from top down for settings, and you will be able to adjust how the phone reacts from taking it out of holster, or in

The are NO SETTINGS for in holster or out of holster.
Profiles have been crippled.

Geolab is correct. You can control what happens when taking it out of, or putting it back into the holster. But - like you said, profiles are crippled and there are no in / out of holster profiles.

All that offers you is to Answer a call by removing from holster or end call by putting it back it.

It is disingenuous to call that a "holster function".

But I guess it can be spun in any way. So, to the OP, there are VERY limited holster functions and yet something else that the "old OS" did but was removed. I guess no one used it.

Hmm, I doubt it. I'd really like to think that they removed the feature because of some user research, but I doubt that too.

It is another feature removed under the guise of "Keep Moving".
They just don't say which direction.

You bring up a good question (thread hijack alert).....for BES (Outlook in your pocket) functions, what does the z10 offer me that my current 9810 doesn't from a feature/function standpoint? Granted that is all the 9810 does well, but what BES type functions are going to be better than my iPhone 4s and HTC One X on EAS?
