cant send or receive bluetooth files on blackberry curve 8520

Hi im new to all this an was looking for some help!
my wife has bought a blackberry and we cant send files to eachother/anyone using bluetooth.
The devices will pair but then when we try to send something it says unable to connect. that is the same trying to send to her or her trying to send to me! It is confusing us an just wondered if anyone could shed some light on it!
Thankyou in advance.

You will have to select 'receive using bluetooth' from the menu on the blackberry. Are you doing that?

The blackberry help app is very good. Here is a sample:

Quote:

To perform this task, Bluetooth® technology must be turned on and your BlackBerry® device must be paired with a Bluetooth enabled device.

On the Home screen, click the Media icon.

Click a media type.

Press the Menu key.

Click Receive Using Bluetooth.

Send a media file from the paired Bluetooth enabled device.

If necessary, click Yes.

Click Save

What are you doing, step by step, and where does it not work for you?

Caveat: The quote is from 9700/5.0.0.330.
