Can't update BB 9700 to OS 6
 

Hello,

I'm newbie so sorry for this topic. I tried to update my blackberry from OS5 to OS6, but it still shows me there is actually OS.

I'm using Windows 7 and Blackberry was bought from Orange (Slovakia)

I used these instructions:

It means that louder.exe cant find any update for OS and it still shows me, that this OS what I am using is the newest OS.

What OS version did you download and install on your computer?

Does it show up on your computer under the install programs on the Add/Remove Program list?

Did you delete the vendor.xml file?

I downloaded 6.0.0.358 version
In Add/Remove Program list I have Blackberry Desktop Manager
Yes, I deleted vendor.xml...

Can you write me step by step tutorial with download links? I will be very thankfull

I suspect same as Mama. Sounds like you did not download the OS for your model.

Yes. This is why you delete the vendor file. Just make sure your model is what you think it is, and get the OS file for your model.

The link I posted above in post #6 is to the latest OS thread at the top of the subforum for the 9700. If you do have the 9700 and you want OS 6, those directions tell you where to get the newest version and how to install it.

It doesnt work. I used instructions from link what you sent me, but it still doesnt work. It cant find newest OS than is mine.

You need to give more information if others are going to be able to assist you.

Does the OS show up on your computer under Add/Remove Programs? You stated above that you only had BlackBerry Desktop Manager there.

Did you delete ALL other device OS versions from the computer?

Did you reboot the computer?

MY Dear same problem I had before. But Now I am enjoying OS 6. I updated may be 20 times but after that same OS 5 was found SO Want to share with you my experience.

1. Back up your contacts, Messages, mails etc by using Blackberry desktop software.
2. Close BB desktop software
3. Download & install BBSAK software, you can find it very easily through Google.
4. With BBSAK software wipe your device. (It will erase your OS 5, This is what I think you are not doing)
5. Insatall os 6 BY using BBSAK or directly from C drive location.
6. Dont not disturbe the process, wait until it gives you confirmation of successful installation.
7. Enjoy.

For what it's worth, you do not need to wipe the device to upgrade the OS. And the instructions in the sticky to work. Not sure what the problem was.

It says update is successful after doing everything by irshadonweb's instructions, but none of the buttons exept for the volume one work for me... What should i do?? If i downgrade to os 5 they work fine... there is the problem? :)
