how to replace BES server

i want to build a new temporary server as the old one is getting tired any one know how to do this.

i need to move all clients on to new server and rebuild the old one.
is it as simple as joining the new server with the old moving the clients and then shut down the old one.

Migrate the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to new hardware

... but we all know deep down that I recommend the knife-edge (or spork-edge if you're feeling frisky).

if i knew more about it knife edge would be the only way to go

You can only get a new SRP from RIM.

stimpy_jack 10-02-2007 07:17 AM

cool thanks dudes

hdawg 10-02-2007 07:17 AM

Well, if you do a knife-edge (or spork-edge), you don't need any additional SRPs ... if you do a phased migration you'll need to get a temp one from RIM. They may / may not provide you one without T-Support. It can't hurt to call and ask if you're interested in performing the move using that method.

it would be much easier that way as i have more spare kit than chicks

just sign up for the free quick start version. you'll get a new set of SRP keys together with the CALs. the limitation is in the CALs you get, not the SRP info.
