Anyone get theirs unlocked from any site or something. Im waiting on some person i bought the unlock code from on Ebay... he's taking his sweet time on getting it to me.

Wirelessly posted (8130 Pearl (Sprint))

I got all my unlocks from ebay. If he doesn't get it to you withing 4 or 5 days, I would try to contact him via email. If he fails to reply, open a dispute with paypal

Not sure if Adam has the unlock codes for the Kickstart yet, but I have had nothing but positive experiences with gsmphonesource.com. Adam over there has unlocked a ton of bbs for me with no problems. Always responsive.

Noctem 10-18-2008 12:35 PM

are they trustworthy though?

im a very paranoid person

i dont see the 8220 on the site...

JSanders 10-18-2008 12:39 PM

They are very trustworthy and are sponsors of this forum.

They will tell you upfront how long it should take and if they can't unlock it either way.

Noctem 10-18-2008 12:57 PM

I just emailed them.. waiting for a response now

That70sGAdawg 10-18-2008 01:06 PM

I have been trying since Tuesday to get my 8220 unlocked with one, then a second company. Hopefully I'll hear soon. I will report when successful...

Noctem 10-18-2008 01:16 PM

****... maybe we should have just bought unlocked ones instead of trying to get an unlock code..

That70sGAdawg 10-18-2008 01:23 PM

For at least the next 90 days, the only choice for AT&T users will be purchasing outright for $349.00 and unlocking for $19-$24. Who wants to pay $500-$1000 on eBay for an "unlocked unit"?? Not me

Have those vendors told you upfront that they could provide the unlock code for that device?

Noctem 10-18-2008 02:25 PM

When i bought mine on ebay it said that turn around was usually 24 hours, on very rare occasions 72 hours.

Neither listed the brand new unit on their website yet. But, both have been responsive, and said that it should be going through soon. Neither has given up yet. It may not be in the T Mobile servers yet, being so new. I will name the company/companies that comes through - as they will have earned it. I have had phones unlocked before, including a TMobile 7130. Usually AT&T has the latest Blackberrys, but not lately.

That70sGAdawg 10-18-2008 02:42 PM

Anyone who receives an unlock code on a 8220- Please post!

JSanders 10-18-2008 02:56 PM

I know Horizon said they could.
