Re: BlackBerry Torch VS Nokia E72, features, usability, and functionality
Did you read the report or write it? the person who did write it clearly has no real understanding about Blackberry's.

That's a Nokia fanboy site. Completely biased, poorly researched, and completely invalid. Also kinda poorly written, but that's literary criticism, not technical criticism.

Re: BlackBerry Torch VS Nokia E72, features, usability, and functionality
Hello All,
Recently i moved from Nokia to BB... thought that my new toy is fully optimized for business use, but unfortunately am disappointed due to the poor usability and functionality compared to Nokia, so that I decided to write what i found! Please correct me if you noticed any thing wrong.. :) |

Amazingly Nokia is a player in Europe, but is barely visible in North America.
That would account for our scepticism. |

BlackBerrys cannot view HTML email? And you were using a Torch, Michel?
That's as far as I read at the link. Enough to see what it is, and what it's not. Posted via BlackBerryForums.com Mobile |
Re: BlackBerry Torch VS Nokia E72, features, usability, and functionality
I was a Nokia user for several years prior to discovering BlackBerrys. For business use Nokia is nowhere near ready. Nokia's email handling has been problematic at best, never reliable, and terribly inconsistent. Likewise, their integration with Outlook has never measured up to BlackBerry.

Re: BlackBerry Torch VS Nokia E72, features, usability, and functionality
I have a Nokia N900 maemo 5 and the email is by far the weakest link. I have waited a year for them to address this - nothing. I can't even get HTML for exchange. Pretty shocking for a phone that cost me $700. I do think Nokia's setup for Outlook is very good though (I prefer PC Suite, which they are no longer supporting, over Ovi Suite.) Unless you have a 64 bit computer (buggy) or 64 bit Office (not compatible yet.)
February 11 Nokia is going to announce something. Speculation is they are going to do away with Symbian and MeeGo (possibly the successor to maemo.) They may go with Windows Phone 7 or Droid. If they do that would be stunning! I like the linux based platform - I have learned a lot from meamo - it doesn't treat you like you are an idiot. I hope they don't do this - the more OS's to choose from out there the better for the user. It will be interesting to see what they announce... Sandy |
