please help: WiFi problem

hi I'm new here

I got 8900 Javellin and it can't connect to the internet.

My BB could connect through the WiFi

It detect the WiFi

but when I'm trying to open a website

there's a message

'unable to reach the requested server'

You can surely use wi-fi to access the Internet without a bb data plan. The things u can't do are using some apps like bbm and email too. I guess u did/ should have done this 2 connect to ur wi-fi:
Go to Manage Connections.
check wi-fi so that it is now on.
Go to Set up wi-fi network.
Click Next.
click Scan for networks.
Then Choose your wi-fi network and connect to it.
You should get a screen saying "Success"
then finally click wi-fi/ hotspot login.
You should get a screen in ur browser saying that you were successfully connected to the wifi-network.

Try opening a web page.
Also make sure ur wi-fi net is functioning properly.

It could also be that the wifi network your device is trying to connect to is secured.
