getting gps to work on storm

i have a 9530, with verizon. i want my gps to work with google maps. problem is, verizon has disabled gps functionality with any application besides vz navigator.

is there a non carrier branded os? or an os that doesnt suppress the gps functionality in the storm?

i need to know what options there are, and what i can do to get my gps working without vz navigator.

thank you!

Welcome to the BBForums!

Read this link... some say it works for them.

Loading a different OS to the device won't do it. Make sure you have turn Location ON in Options > GPS.

Verizon has NOT disabled GPS for anything it is unlocked!!!! It doesn't work for google because there is a legal hang up with there software. The GPS works for weather bug, BBMaps, the cop tracker software that I can't recall the name of lol, and others
