I'm going to Japan later this week, and I expect I'll be able to use my BlackBerry there, but if anyone has actually used a Sprint BlackBerry in Japan I'd like hear about your experience.

It will work there, but you may want to call Sprint Worldwide and activate your SIM card (the activation is free, they get your $$ when you actually use the device there).

Call 888-226-7212 to activate the SIM.

Sprint Tour works great in Japan -- for voice and data.

I have found that I need to switch the network setting from "global" to "UMTS" when in Japan to get data to work properly.

I am on sprint and they will carry the tour - will this phone work in Japan? i know japan has their own network - UMTS and the specs say this for the Tour but I haven't known sprint to have agreements with many countries like AT&T. I'm trying to decide if I should switch carriers - I was before I saw the Tour coming out on Sprint
