when you get the track in KML format, and then load it within GPSLogger, then you can exactly do what you would like to do

that great!
Another think I am anxious for is the option to see a map in the background and not just the track on a blank screen is that possible? |

Re: GPSLogger [100% free - 100% offline]
Hello and thanks for this great application
i use it on a Curve9300 and have the followings questions: The altitude information is wrong ( What is displayed is about 60 meters higher than the real altitude) Is it a bug in the program or a blackberry settings ? When exporting to Gpx, is it possible to remove the waypoints ? There are wrongly supported for wweb tools like everytrail or gpsvisualizer thanks a lot |
Re: GPSLogger [100% free - 100% offline]
Great application - I was looking for this for long time!
Would be cool to be able to scroll map (if not by touching screen, at least by some keys shortcuts) Anyway - thanks for this soft!!! |

GPS LOGGER is great application, but I've encountered problems with accuracy. In my BB 8900 (with the 5.0.0_rel1728 soft.; GPS LOGGER 2.3.0.9) the ALTITUDE is always inaccurate! For example on TURBACZ MOUNTAIN (POLAND) - official altitude is 1310 m (above sea level), GPS LOGGER showed 1358 m? (I took foto when I was standing close to official signboard at the top of TURBACZ - see attachment). On DIABLAK MOUNTAIN - similar situation - 1769 m (the real altitude is "only" 1725 m). ON LUBON GPS LOGGER showed 1079 m, - mountain elevation is 1022 m.
At any other moutain the results were similar (always from 30 to 60 meters more than real altitude). What's wrong? |
Re: GPSLogger [100% free - 100% offline]
The GPS Alt is in WGS84 - this is not the alt you know from your typo maps

Re: GPSLogger [100% free - 100% offline]
So is there a way to correct altitude ( specify a correction gap), to have "real" altitudes ?

Re: GPSLogger [100% free - 100% offline]
This is quite an old thread but:
I'm hoping to get to talk to a fellow GPSLogger II user. I've been unable to register at the emacberry forums. The dialog never sends a verification email and I've tried two different uid - email -passwd combinations, both to active email accounts, but no email is ever sent there to verify my account. So, I cannot post at the emacberry GPSlogger forum. Also searching there for an answer to the problem below has not found an answer. I want to learn how to import *.gpx or *.kml files into GPSLogger II. When I press the main menu button with the `import' menu item, I see a quick flash of some kind of activity and then the screen says `*empty*' As if the application is looking for files somewhere, and is not finding any. However I cannot determine where it is looking. The flash of activity may show it, but happens too fast to be seen. Installing GPSlogger created a driectory SDCARD/blackberry/tracking so I tried putting *.kml file there but still get the `empty' line. The manual does not explain about importing, although the write up on GPSLogger II does say it can import/export *.gpx and *.kml files. Can anyone tell me how to import a *.kml into GPSLogger II? |

Quote:
1 emailed myself the same track file in both .gpx and .kml formats 2 cut and pasted both of these files into the SDCARD/blackberry/tracking 3 went to Applications/File Folders/Media Card/Blackberry/tracking again to make absolutely sure that both files were there (they were) 4 opened GPSLogger II 5 clicked on "Import (GPX/KML)" which showed both of the files 6 selected either the .gpx or .kml file 7 confirmed the selection by clicking again on Import GPX/KML and hey presto the imported track showed up perfectly on the map |
