Installation:
-Download file and install on your PC [Some people delete previous versions from their PC before installing a new one. This is optional]

Before doing anything, you will first need to back up some information; enable remote and local back up of all BBM chats/contacts, do a quick back up of any 3rd party apps (Like BeWeather or the like) Connect your BlackBerry to your PC and open Desktop Manager, connect your BlackBerry and back up your device. If you wish, you can also use BBSAK, and backup all your 3rd party apps.
.
On PC, delete Vendor file located here:
32-bit: Computer/C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader
64-bit: Computer/C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader

In same AppLoader file where you deleted Vendor, double-click Loader to load the OS to your BlackBerry.

Troubleshooting
If the OS you just installed is not available, then you can try deleting the vendor file(s) or delete the contents of the AppLoader folder.

Vendor
If manually deleting Vendor, always hold down SHIFT+DEL to permanently delete.
Check here first:
32-bit: Computer\C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
64-bit: Computer\C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

If the Loader still doesn't see the new OS then search PC for "Vendor".

If you still cannot locate a copy of the vendor file on your PC, then you can also delete the contents of the AppLoader folder.

AppLoader
Uninstall the OS (The one you just installed)
Navigate to the AppLoader folder
32-bit: Computer/C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader
64-bit: Computer/C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Research In Motion/AppLoader

Select all contents of the folder (Ctrl+A), and SHIFT+DEL to delete all contents. The restart your PC
Install OS again. Delete the vendor files (if needed), and double click on the Loader to install the OS on your BlackBerry
