Welcome!
OK, here is my first take at cleaning up what started here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...tml#post682272
I am now in fairly regular contact with Audible and they are working diligently to provide a stable/robust client for the blackberry. Several folks from our community (as well as people outside our community) are testing the beta releases as they compile them. To clarify how actively they are working on this beta, some changes I requested just two days ago are now available in the current release. Here is an excerpt from audible on the subject. Quote:

Have you heard when they will release another version? I am still having difficulties with getting any Beta version to work with a 4.1.0 O/S. I've let Audible know about the error messages and they're thinking that they might have to release versions based on 4.2 and above O/S and one for those below that O/S. |

In your case, I would try the 1.0.65. Also, have you tried reloading your OS? I really think that will fix your problem. I was able to load it on my 8100 the same as I did with my 8800 and 8820. There shouldn't be anything TMobile specific causing it. |
Thanks Grim, great job.
Quick question. Regarding use of audible. My employer is considering letting me move from AT&T 8800 blackberry to a cell south 8830 cdma blackberry due to increased network. Is anyone currently using audible with a 8830 with cdma service successfully. If not, does anyone know if it should have any effect with audible and cdma. I don't have at&t service in my house whereas I do with cell south. Will not change if I lose audible with cell south. I will continue to forward my cell to home phone when at the house. Thanks |

---When I first wrote this, I thought you were referring to a Verizon 8830. Sorry, but I have never heard of cell south. |
Grimlin, thanks for spearheading this with Audible. I'm a current Audible customer, and would love to get it working on my 8310. I had 1.0.55 installed earlier, but it kept locking up and forcing a battery pull. I see from your first post that the latest stable version is 1.0.64, but when I try to download all I can seem to get is 1.0.57. I'd really like to install, but am hesitant to install an old version. Is there some kind of limited access?

Thanks for help and offer if no one else is on 8830. |

Thanks Grimlin, got your PM. Thanks also for the time you've spent on this, understand you're just an interested customer, and appreciate your efforts! (y)

audible air 8130
i already let them know - they said its my problem - i have a large sd card so getting the stuff onto my phone is no problem with a USB cable - unfortuately, adible loggin hangs - i try it a couple of times a day - just hoping its due to overcast conditions - or maybe low flying aircraft - but to no avail. after putting in my password and loggin name (exactley as it is supposed to appear) it just says Audible Log-In (forever.....and ever). The pearl 8130 is faily new so i don't expect it to be the first to get fixed.

i've been reading the forums since the first of december when i got my BB and i've tried everything i've read - just waiting for something new or a new version of air - thanks for the idea - it took a couple of days myself before i read that - thought i hit the jackpot - but it doesn't help - thanks again

I finally have success! I upgraded my O/S to 4.2.1.96 and downloaded the Audible 1.0.65 and it actually opens! The previous versions with the 4.1.xx O/S didn't work at all. I'm quite happy to have made it this far. Now to see if some of the other issues have been fixed! |

I have 1.0.64 on my 8820 and 1.0.65 on my 8800 ( I couldn't resist). So far, I haven't used 65 for extended listening, just used it to see bug fixes and changes. It is nice to see that they implemented my suggestion for a delete all in the bookmarks. That was really a pain to clean up bookmarks after listening to a book. However, if the client gets much better, I will probably use bookmarks a lot less. With 64, it has become just a safety blanket for me. I still bookmark before ending my listening session, but I never use them. I think we would all be interested in your opinions on the 65 release after you have used it for a day. Audible would probably also be very interested to know that you got it working by updating your OS. In the end, they will need that info for a minimum requirements statement. If you haven't already, I highly recommend you send that on to the beta team along with your regular report. |
