I've had mine that i've used on past phones, then got the V600 so got the BT250 and started using the free speak BT200 on my BB. I do have to say, being a long time user of Bluetooth, I love it! It beats having wires run everywhere. So in a quick run down, here's my list:
PROS: -No extra wires -Freedom of movement, able to walk up to 30 feet away from the device -EASY to set up and use -Ability to leave the headset somewhere, say in your car. You get in, sit down it recognizes and BANG wireless handsfree. -Clear conversations -comfortable fit around the ear CONS: -The extra piece, it's a pain in the arse when you need to pull the BB out of the holster, unplugging it all the time -Neon lights do interfere with the "link", especially over 10 feet seperation -No utilization on the BB for voice dial All in all I say go for it, there will be small problems, such as the extra piece, unplugging it all the time, but it beats the wire! |
I ended up purchasing one only cause I got it cheap on eBay. Used it once and it pretty much ended there. I do like Jabra product and ultimately I ended up buying their ear boom, as for the BT200 I found the connection would always drop between the headset and adapted further the added adapter was more garb to have to caarry.

I bought the BT200 and found it is bigger than I expected. I don't think I will use it. If you want it, I can sell it to you at a reasonable price $38.00

Jabra BT 200 won't work w/ BB 7280
After reading the reviews and being confronted by the RF problems mention in other threads around here, I finlly broke down and bought the Jabra BT 200. It works with my other phones, but unfortunately not with my BB 7280. I just can't seem to get ANY sound out of it (I haven't check to see it people can here). When I call, I can hear the regular speaker of the BB working fine, but it's not coming through the BT 200.
Any ideas? |
Keep in mind that there are different models of the Jabra Freespeak for Non-Bluetooth phones. The different models have different headset jack configurations. What other phones does your BT200 work with? That could give us an indication which BT200 model you have.

If the headset was working with other phones using the adapter, pairing shouldn't be an issue. Since the headset and adapter would remain paired regardless of what the adapter was plugged into.
If the headset was being used without the adapter on a bluethooth enabled phone, then you would have to re-pair with the adapter before using it. |
Well I discovered that I had bought the wrong one...
It was for the Nokia (which explains why it worked with my 7250), but no haps with the BB. |
I believe you will want the "JABRA® FreeSpeak™ Wireless Headset for all non-Bluetooth® Cellular Phones with 2.5 mm Headset Jacks". I currently own this model and will verify functionality with my 7750.
I will also test the answer/end emulation feature to see if this works. |
The "JABRA® FreeSpeak™ Wireless Headset for all non-Bluetooth® Cellular Phones with 2.5 mm Headset Jacks" does work, however the answer/end emulation feature does not appear to work with the blackberry. I have a BT100. If anyone would like to test with a BT200(newer model with longer battery life), the directions are here:

I'm using the "JABRA® FreeSpeak™ Wireless Headset for all non-Bluetooth® Cellular Phones with 2.5 mm Headset Jacks" with my 7280 and the answer/end feature works OK with mine. Only issue I have is the delay in answering. Phone rings, push button on headset to answer, say hello, hello, hello, hello, hello and finally connect. A bit annoying. Give me a standard in car hands free kit and I'll be happy.

BT250 ?
This will sound like a stupid question.
I am having difficulty with my BB and my Logitech Mobile Freedom Headset. It is paired and allows me to speak when calls are answered from the BB but the multi-function button does not allow me to answer, mute or end calls from the headset. Is this standard BB7520 implementation? My question was whether anybody had the Jabra BT250 in use with the BB7520 and if you could answer calls from the headset button or do you have to use the track wheel? Thanks. |

Jabra FreeSpeak 250
i love my jabra! i've got a BB 7520 so it's got the bluetooth inside so for me everything is a breeze! i got mine for $60 thru craigslist.com. original owner had it for 6 days but decided not to keep it. dropped the gel earbuds in boiling water, wiped the unit down with alcohol and that's it!
also know that the FS250 should work with any bluetooth device. the previous owner was with cingular and the bottom of the box has a cingular sticker/sku #. btw - a buddy of mine has the same BB 7520 and just bought a FS250 for less than $70 shipped off eBay! |
I have a bt200 and it works well with my 7520 I am able to answer end and redial from the unit. I don not need to interface with the bb to use it. I have graduated to the Mot. HS 810 so if anybody wants a genlty used BT 200 with a car charger hit me up...

If you have compatibility questions feel free to ask me and I can break it down for you... there is already some good info in this thread but if you need more let me know.
