Tasks & Notes won't sync with BES - Mail, Contacts and Calendar work fine
Hi all,
I'm not a BB expert so please give me the benefit of the doubt. I've had a VZW BB 8703e for some time. Just recently I noticed that Notes and Tasks do not sync wireless. I create a Note or Task on BB and it never gets to Outlook. I create a Note or Task on Outlook and it never gets to BB. I'm 99% sure this was working just fine for a long time. My Mail, Calendar and Contacts sync both ways via wireless with no problems. My company is running BES. I don't see an option on the BB in Tasks and Notes to turn wireless sync to "Yes". I see this option for Contacts and Calendar. <edit> I've pulled the battery and restarted </edit> Thanks for the help. Adam |
Do you know who your BES Administrator is?
First thing I would try is ask them to resend the service books to your device, and make sure the PIM Sync mappings are correct on your BES account... |

I'm not crazy, right? You can sync Notes and Tasks between Exchange and BB? Is there something I can look at? Is there a place where I may have turned off wireless sync for Notes and Tasks? Thanks for your help, I use these often. Adam |
On the Blackberry:
Go into Tasks->Options and make sure that Wireless Syncronization is set to on. Do the same for the MemoPad. |

Thanks. |
Sounds to me like they are not mapped on the BES. The BB cannot wirelessly synch data unless the server location is defined properly in BES.
Ask your BES Admin to open BlackBerry Manager, go into your user account, and click on the "PIM Sync" tab. She needs to check the "tasks" and "memos" section, and ensure that they are populated to point at the correct exchange DBs. Then she needs to resend the service books. |
You might want to check with your BES Admin if any other users are affected by this issue.
Check the Sync Service on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server to verify if it is running. Task and Memos are dependent on Sync Service which is also connected to a Exchange Connector or Domino Connector to the Agent, which in turn the Agent is connected to the BES. Calendar and Mail are just dependent on the Agent, that is why the issue you experienced is not affecting the calendar and mail. |
