Phone Plan Changes - Opinions/Can this be done?
 

Here is the situation.

My company has asked me to replace my personal pearl 2 (which is on their BES) with a VZW Curve (yea me!). Sounds pretty straight forward, but here is/are the wrinkle (s)

1. I want to keep my phone number, which is currrently on a VZW personal plan. Would need to port it to the corporate plan.

2. I want to give my BB to my wife (and swap her number to this phone), and downgrade the data plan to the BIS variety.

3. Want to also give my wife's phone to my daughter, but give her a new number. And my wife is due to get a new upgrade anyway.

Anyone see any major problems with this transaction? It should be doable, but logic does not always prevail in these situations.

Yes with a competent rep you should be able to do what ya want

Cool beans on the new Curve. I would find out what your company policy is on porting your number over to their account. Our policy is the employee loses ownership of the number and if/when they leave the company (voluntary or otherwise) they cannot get the number returned to them.

The answer to this (and if you care or not) will affect the other 2 questions.....

I think i might have to deal with 2 different reps, as one is the corporate one, but maybe she could do both?

I probably wouldn't want the number back if I left!, my main thing is that I have had this number for years, associated with this company, and I don't want to hassle with all the updating and all. Even though it is my personal BB, it is the number listed on my biz cards, corporate directory, etc. Our corporate policies are pretty flexible on this, so should not be a problem.
