Play audio through car speakers
 

Does anyone know of the best way to listen to audio from the pearl through car speakers? I tried using an fm transmitter but it was horrible. Is there anything available similar to what the ipod uses?

Some new cars' audio system have a aux input, from which I have read on here some users will plug the BB headset out to, with the appropriate cable, often available somewhere like Radio Shack.

Yeah, the auxiliary port works but I dont have one on my deck.

They are selling some new Bluetooth car kits that support a rca out put so that you can listen to your music over you car raido. I seen one in the last months issue in crutchfield.

Search google for "Auxiliary input adapter" and your car make. They make kits for Factory Radios that use the CD Changer port which will allow you to connect anything with an output into your deck.

FM transmitters are NOT the preferred way to go...had a Garmin Nuvi 760 and I was constantly changing stations trying to find an open station...yuck!

this may be a little old thinking, but if your headunit in your car has only a tape deck then why not try the aux input via a cassette adapter like the ones we used to use when portable cd players first came out and we wanted to listen to cd's in our cars

Tapedeck? There's a thought, is the audio just as good as a direct wire? Could be a lot easier...heh, I think my 2004 Chevy Cavalier actually has a tape deck below the AM radio! Last time I had an audio tape was Steve Miller's Fly Like An Eagle on 8-track!

A friend of mine is doing it that way and it works brilliantly. The tape deck method is very very clear. Unfortunately my car doesn't have a tape deck....wow sounds weird reading that!

What's a tape deck? LoL.

Had the iPod cable out its rear, but the front panel also has an aux jack. I bought an adapter from these folks to hook in the Pearl 8120 (because the GF doesn't share her iPod):

Works fine. I guess you could use that with the cassette adapter, too. Or get a new radio for your car.

All you need is a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter then either plug it into directly into your car audio system if you have the AUX input jack or they mave RCA to 3.5mm converters too (this is what I use). That is the best ways to direct connect. Connecting wirelessly worked pretty good for me when I used the Belkin FM Modulator (with some mods) but nothing sounds better that it being wired in.

I'm not sure about your model, but my pearl has a 3.5mm jack in it. And having dealt with this issue before, I know that not all contacts are wired the same. You will NOT want to short the wrong contacts (the rings and tip of the male part of the cord). You can fry circuitry. Get a known pinout of your model blackberry, and measure the height of each lead to insure that whatever you plug into your blackberry is correct for L/R/mic/gnd. Could get ugly if you plug just any ol' cord in that hole. You wouldn't randomly stick your cord in any ol' hole, now, would you?

I do this for my Sirius Satalite Radio and the sound is great. The FM around here is so crowded it is hard to find a clear channel for the FM transmitter. I have use the tape deck in my Volvo since 1-9-06.:razz:

The only adapters that work or the ones from Seido and the ones at Best Buy under the name Just Wireless. This is the one I used for years and it works perfectly. Price is around $15.

lol. i use the tape deck adapter in my tundra, works great and sounds great. i even use it for the telenav turn by turn.

If you mean you have a stock stereo and no inputs what so ever you only got two options. A better FM transmitter or get a new head unit. I have a Belkin and it works great stronger signal then most others on the market. If you look hard enough you can find the ones like the ipod works with that will let you tune any station you want and have more of a chance to find a clear one. The one I have only gives me 88.1 ,88.3,88.5,and 88.7 but that's fine for where I live not many stations use the lower bands.

There's a company called mobileblackbox -- they make a v6000 model. If that thing did stereo broadcast, it would be excellent. Check out their website and write and request a stereo version of the v6000. Only way we can get vendors to produce what we want is if we ask and let them know there is demand.

I have a Toyota with no stock aux inputs, but I bought an Aux Input adapter for it and I now have an iPod connector and a L+R RCA input that I can use.
