Nice Find! This looks like the version that was posted by Jibi at BGR.

CBR900RR 11-03-2007 01:06 AM

Are you guys downloading it now, only getting 102KB/S, size is 244MB.

John Clark 11-03-2007 01:10 AM

Typical RIM download....I'm getting only 60

CBR900RR 11-03-2007 01:16 AM

Trying to get into their FTP site but need password:?

ftp2.smartone-vodafone.com/BlackBerry/

John Clark 11-03-2007 01:21 AM

Its up to 103 now. I started it earlier but I must have accidentally closed it and I had to start over. *shrugs*

I think I already have this version but downloading just to be sure.

CBR900RR 11-03-2007 01:27 AM

So did you install it and does it work with current 4.2.1/4.2.2 OS?

John Clark 11-03-2007 01:33 AM

Yes. It works fine. The only negative is that it won't back up my 3rd party apps as per my sticky thread. It backs up Live Search but finds nothing else for 3rd party apps in the switch device wizard. The 4.2.2 version finds all my 3rd party apps.

CBR900RR 11-03-2007 01:43 AM

Thanks alot, installing now.

John Clark 11-03-2007 01:58 AM

Yep. This is the one. It's version 4.3.0.15 dated Aug 15, 2007

Edit: I installed this on top of the version I had and turned out it's the same version. However, the reinstallation did fix my problem with the switch device wizard. (y)

can't get the page to pull up.

NCBuckeye 11-03-2007 09:29 AM

Ok, got it now but it is going to take like 2.5 hours to download, and watching it doesn't make it go any faster....lol

Did they add the "constant sync" capability? Still waiting for that so I don't have to run a manual sync before I unplug my Curve.

Not true at all. If something was made publicly available, which this seems to have been. Then you reposting it, would be in no way be a violation of any law. The fact that it's not available right now can be for a variety of reasons, if it's because it was not meant for public use, then they must notice the public stating such.

If, after re posting it, you see the publicly posted notice or you are officially noticed with a cease and desist order, then you would be breaking the law by leaving it up there.

Sorry to bore you with the law, but you should know of what you speak.(y)

Since downloading it from the Blackberry website requires entering your personal information they prefer to know who's downloading. I would agree it's not on the BB website at this time, however, so same agreement may not apply. It depends on 02's agreement.

Not in all cases. You start dealing with international import/export laws, etc. It could become quite the slippery slope for someone.
