The most important app you added

What s the most important app you loaded on your Pearl and why

d_fisher 12-06-2007 10:27 AM

Solitare. It gives me something to do when the wife is talking.

JSanders 12-06-2007 10:29 AM

Pipes, of late.

Then she (my wife) saw it and wanted it. Now she has something to do besides talk to me.

Just curious, how do you use the LED color notifications?

JSanders 12-06-2007 12:12 PM

BBAlerts. Different color LED can tell you what type of new message...

Example: White LED could be a new SMS, Purple could be email, etc.

Fireproof 12-06-2007 12:20 PM

Oooh, cool. Might have to think about how I might use this.

I have quite a few - hard to pick just one.

My top ones would be:

Google Maps (new beta that figures out your location without GPS).

Klondike Solitaire

And my newly-discovered Weather Push browser channel

camaro322hp 12-06-2007 12:23 PM

google maps, use it every day to check traffic.

dknell 12-06-2007 12:42 PM

bbsmart email viewer ... by far...BB email is just stupid to read without it...especially email with links and mulitple forwards...

zimbu1234 12-06-2007 01:23 PM

1. Opera Mini
2. Google Maps
3. SoftReset

1. midpSSH
(administrer out linux server's, you can ssh in, setup some pre made macro's and admin your servers, oh, and it's free ) :)
2. Nav4All (great audio turn by turn directions (need a GPS puck), works with your desktop website to plot as well, and yea, it's free)
3. Idokorro Mobile Desktop - (we still have a few *cough* M$ servers and with this you can VNC into them to administer, sorry guys this one's not free, but wait, the demo is!)

Where can I find this app? Sounds like something I would like to try for a bit.

I'll have to look at midpSSH as well! I was looking for a free SSH client for my BB.

Why do you need a GPS puck for Nav4All? Does it not work with the internal GPS?

There are a number of apps I've install, most are "Kewl" or fun, but not important.

So I'd have to say the most important app I've installed is ShopMagic.
With the Pearl, I've completely replaced my old Clie, and the only thing I really used that for was keeping track of my Grocery list.

First search on "pipes" returned the following. ;)

http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...game-ever.html

Pipes - I install it on every device I've used for a long time, it's a fantastic time waster when you're waiting for something, easy to put down and pick back up. The grid size is completely adjustable and in fact works very sweetly with the 8100+ trackball, a perfect fit.

My only wish is that it had some sort of system where it remembered how fast you finished a certain grid size (like a top 10 scores) so you can try and beat your best time. I think I'll send that suggestion to the author...
