8330 Curve will not fully charge and no usb connectivity

Good Morning

I have recentlly acquired a Blackberry 8330 Curve from my cellular service provider and have started to encounter problems that I cannot resolve.

The USB input does not seem to work. When connecting the unit to either a laptop running vista or to a pc running windows xp64, the blackberry software (4.3.0.17) will not detect it nor does the operating system.

The other difficulty is the charging - it will not fully charge, showing a single battery line and low battery warning.

I've removed the battery with the unit on and off for 1 minute and there are no connectivity warnings in Device Manager.

Seems rather odd for a new, 1 week old blackberry.

Wirelessly posted (what does it matter?)

Indeed I'd take it back to store and get it replaced

USB= Good to Go, Charge = No Go

My 8320 has been trouble free for the past 5 months when all of a sudden........ .......NO CHARGE when using any of my house or car chargers (not that it would matter but I tried different batts too!) Nothing happens when I plug in any of the chargers. I can charge off of USB though and the USB link works fine, just no charging. I ordered one of the desk top chargers that use the contacts on the back of the BB to see if that works but I has not arrived yet. I am puzzled by this one which is similar to yours but at least I have the USB that works.

My cellular provider is expediting a new 8330 as I type. I do have sensitive material on this phone and would like to know if there is the possibility of resetting this device to factory defaults, thereby removing any of my passwords, emails, etc?

just got a new one as a replacement, plugged into CPU usb and then it wouldn't charge anywhere else. what I noticed was the Blackberry USB cable that came with my curve was bending one of the pins, I killed the cable, corrected the bent pin and it now works on everything.
