Is there such a thing as adding GPS tracking capabilities/software to the Blackberry Curve? I sometimes travel to dangerous areas, and it would be nice if my family could keep track of me by means of my blackberry.

A quick Google search found these two possibilities: AccuTracking - Online Real-Time GPS Phone Tracking Service and Blackberry Tracker at Blackberry GPS Tracker - Home (appears to be a free service?). If you have an 8310 with build in GPS, either would work. If you don't have an 8310, it may be possible to use a bluetooth gps unit with your phone and one of these services. Hope this helps.

Thanks jnw190. I checked out the sites. If anyone here has ever used either of these, what has been your experience with it - positive, negative, etc.?

i personnaly prefer www.gps-snitch.com. they have a product called blip that is free and that is making a good job as it always run!

I am using the Blackberry Tracker as mentioned above. Seems to work pretty well. It is free. Shows your location on a Google map in almost real-time.

Does using one of these applications cause more of a drain on your battery?
