Since my mobile operator does not have a BIS plan is it possible for me as an individual to setup my own BES? Is it costly? If not, are there 3rd parties out there that could provide that service?

Does your provider offer a BES plan?
You'd need one from your carrier, even if you used our own BES.

Then you can use your own BES (if you're also running an Exchange, Domino or Groupwise server), or a hosted BES. There's many hosted BES options out there.

My company is using exchange but I don't have a machine to host a server. Are there services out there that will allow me to use their BES server as an individual but entitling me to get my email from my companys' exchange server? How would I find these companies? Thanks for your help.

You can install this on your desktop (just leave it running): BlackBerry Server Professional...this will run on your computer as a BES server of sorts - you get one free CAL with it to support your own device.

BlackBerry - BlackBerry Professional Software Express

Check the stickied posts at the top of the forum...I'm not familiar with hosted BES plans, but there may be some information in there that might be useful to you.

I'd reccomend BPSE to, especially as it's free!! (for 1 CAL that is!)
