8900 case? GPS and Screen....

Does anyone know if there are any other Blackberry cases for the 8900? The one it came with looks to small, the top of the phone sticks out!

When you use the GPS is it costing or is this a seperate function built into the phone?

the screen seems a little dark, can this be made brighter?

you can get some at eaccess

Blackberry Curve 8900 Accessories, T-Mobile Blackberry Curve 8900 Accessories and AT&T Blackberry 8900 Accessories with Blackberry Curve 8900 Cases, Blackberry 8900 Chargers and Blackberry 8900 Battery

i got the oyster Tote pouch without the belt clip.. it;s OEM bb.. i got it yesterday and it fits well.. and the phone goes to sleep properly

GPS is built into the phone and it uses data to download the maps necessary.

you can make the screen brighter by going to options and SCREEN/Keyboard.. the brighter you make it the more battery it uses

The GPS is a chip in the phone that downloads satellite data, using BlackBerry Maps and Google Maps uses the GPS chip and/or cell data to generate the maps on screen. You may need to check but I'm sure BB Maps doesn't use any data, Google Maps might, being on an unlimited data plan I haven't really needed to check.

Screen settings are in "Options" > "Screen/Keyboard" and you can change the brightness. Turning off auto-dim seems to make an immediate battery life improvemen in my experience.

I have not used the sleeve that comes with it, I have a silicone case. They can be bought from ebay, Crackberry, I'm sure BlackBerryCool.com have some items in their shop aswell. They shouldn't be too expensive, $10 if you live in the US. If not then I would advise getting it from a site that includes free shipping as the worldwide shiopping costs can be more than the price of the case.

BlackBerry Maps does use data, all map applications do... there is one, not sure of the name of it that you can download maps to your SD card and then that app will use the maps off the SD card to locate your location... look in the GPS section for more info on that app...

Anyone know if this case: BlackBerry Accessories CAN Store - Product Detail fits the 8900 with a silicone skin on it? I know for the 8300 series there were 2 cases and the regular one didn't fit the skinned device very well.
