My AT&T gov't rep came to see me yesterday and had interesting news regarding the BOLD.......

Did they finally tell him it has launched?

The "Magnum" 9220 is not the Bold. It's the touchscreen, 3G Javelin. The next Bold will be a CDMA Bold.

A good friend of mine was at a Roadshow last night and confirmed to me the Bold Touchscreen does exist and it's "Absolutely GORGEOUS!" Rogers will be getting it in September of this year!

Some details:
The back is the same material but almost a snake-skin look.
The keyboard is not curved anymore but cut straight across.
The screen extends down where the four large buttons and pearl USED TO BE and further up the screen where the ear speaker is pushed up and thinned.
It does have an accelerometer.
The screen is NOT CLICKABLE. (thank f*$#)

Sorry, yes. He shared with me that at&t will be getting the touchscreen BOLD this year. But, he also gave me the bad news that we won't have 3G here in Tuscaloosa, Alabama....the 5th largest city in Alabama, that has a major university, UA, whose stadium is expanding to 102,000 people that on Saturdays in the fall will itself become the 2nd largest city in Alabama. A city that hosts Olympic triathlon trials...A city that has Mercedes Benz, where the ML, GL and R Class vehicles are made.....A university that has at&t as it's sponsor..... Until AUGUST, after intialy being told April...And everyone here, especially governments, are leary of just how big the footprint will be...I'm betting SPRINT will be 3G here before at&t, which incidentally has the smallest 3g network in the US....Yet, in the very stadium where Alabama plays, you can't make/receive a call, tx/rx text msg or email...iPhone is useless there as is the BB....You get blasted with email, voicemail, text msg's about an hour after the game....and yet they won't bring in a COW......Yes, I've had it with at&t...Only reason I have it is the fact they won the state contract...I can only hope/pray that VZW wins it, for they are
3G throughout ALABAMA...........Rant over......for now.....

If it has a glass (or more scratch resistant) screen -- and a better camera -- this will be my dream BB..

I think RIM should partner with one of those companies like Zagg and have that material preinstalled on all their screens.

Just read on my Viigo feed, an article just posted on the other forum, the "Pluto" is going to be 99xx series, and should be released on Rogers Q3 or Q4 of this year! Please pleease please come to the states Q1 of 2010!!!
