8220 Flip is compatible with Opera Mini 4.2?

Once Opera Mini 4.2 is installed, there is no icon in "application program" folder, as far as I can see, the Opera Mini 4.2 installation file locates in "download" folder. Every time I run it, it says "installing" and popup two messages which are trying to connect to some website. Let them pass through by say "yes", after a long time wait. Opera Mini 4.2 starts to work. but it's NOT convenience. Doest anyone have similar problem?

I guess 8220 is not compatible with 4.2 version since it's not listed in their website list.

Thanks for help.

I am new here, and only have had my Pearl for a few days. But it acts exactly as you describe. While inconvenient to start, the Operamini browser gives much better performance browsing.

I'm happily running Opera 4.2 on my flip, running 4.6.180.

The behavior you are describing is the installation process. Once that completes successfully, selecting the same icon will then run the application. Move it out of downloads to where you want to run it.

I've had the 'long install' problem too, but the problem was that I really didn't have internet access. (I have no data plan - just using WiFi). I recommend that you use the Wifi Tools, and in particular the Ping tool to ensure that you have access to the internet, then try opening Opera. The installation should take 30 seconds or less.

I just downloaded and it was very fast... It was also fast installing it... and it is very fast for browsing :D
I think Im gonna use this when Im without WiFi... and use the BB browser when WiFi avalible...

4.6.180

hey guys, I am using the Operamini 4.1 which works perfect on my flip. If 4.2 doesn't work properly, try 4.1. Google it. it's easy to get. Or I will upload to somewhere, but don't know if it's allowed here.
