[AT&T] BlackBerry on $10 data plan?

I have an extra BlackBerry from work and my wife has expressed interest. Seeing as she is going to use it for text and VERY low volume email, I was thinking I could add the $10/month data plan to her existing V3x and then move the SIM card to the BlackBerry. Anyone done that?

I am sure I will be flamed....but it's just a question! ;)

Just watch your data utilization! Here is more:

You need a BB data plan to get email. The Media net plan won't do that.

Hmmmmm......I think the wife wants it for her AOL email. Are there mail apps that work with AOL and will access the contact list?

I figure you need the BB data plan to use BIS.

You wont get psuh email but you can have her forward to Gmail and download the Gmail application.

Thanks for the suggestion....there's no way she is going to go for that! ;)

I was just trying to save a few bucks but I'm going to have to go the "legit" way. Thanks for the thoughts.

This is not a flame, simply a clear answer.

BlackBerry devices are meant to be used with BlackBerry plans.

I would recommend the legit way. You can search for Shanghi (sP) mail. It's a free service but all the data runs thru out of the country servers and I would never consider it unless I never got or sent anything private or sensitive.

Good Luck!
