Phone not ringing?
Okay, so I'm new, but this seems like it would be "obvious" but.
I'm trying to get my phone to ring. Currently I have it set to the Normal profile, which is setup as Tone for Out of Holster, T-Jingle as the Ring Tone, and Medium as the volume, it's setup similar for In Holster, except it is marked as Vibrate+Tone. Why would the phone not ring when it's getting an incoming call? Also what is defined as in holster for a 8220 given that it doesn't have a holster? |
Nevermind, seemed to be a quirk, possibly because I'm right at the "edge" of a coverage area. Seemed to ring again next time someone called it, so no clue.

Glad things appear to be working.
Though your phone may not have a holster, you may still purchase cases, sleeves and holsters specifically designed for BlackBerrys. These items contain a small magnet that interacts with the device to let it know it has been holstered. The BlackBerry then enters a pseudo-sleep mode to conserve power. Additionally, there are settings on the phone that key off the the "holstered" status" (i.e. End Call when holstered, etc.). |
Shaun,
Thanks, the whole "magnet" thing was what I didn't understand. |
