'changing the theme' questions from a newbie

Just got my BB 8900 today from AT&T. I have many questions but most of those can wait until I've read the manual. But I do have a couple of questions about changing themes.

1) When you change the theme, are you primarily changing the icons? Do you select a new theme based on the icons, and then can still use other wallpaper?

2) Can someone tell me how, or point me to step-by-step instructions on how to change the theme? (I'm hoping it's as simple as changing wallpaper.)

Any advice, suggestions, and help appreciated. Thanks!

Yes it is primarily icon choice.

BUT some aftermarket theme's also have a built in 'wallpaper' that is permanent when you press the menu key and stray from your actual 'home page' the backberry controlled theme's have a dark blue gradient 'wallpaper', also the 'wallpaper' when you lock your phone.

Changing your theme:
Settings > Options > Theme

Most aftermarket theme's are for download over the net some are OTA (Over the Air) meaning you download them over your blackberry browser (if you have a BIS that is)
and some are downloaded and loaded via PC through DM (Desktop Manager).

Do you have a set theme download link of any sort so I can walk you through this step by step?
or would you like me to just go for it?

Thanks David for the info. Appreciate it. After living with the new phone (BB) today, I think I'll wait on changing the theme for now. I switched it to the other theme that came with, and like it better. It was mainly the icons that bothered me, they weren't "colorful" enough, but like I said, after living with it for a day, I sort of like the simplicity. So I think for now I'll concentrate on learning all about my new BB and how to use all the features.

I thank you for your help.
